3 Styles of Magnificent Half Bras

half bras 2 Comments »

I’ve written a few previous posts on different types of half bras and described them in depth but I wanted to write something on styles that match different personalities that we may be comfortable with.

All women have different personalities that vary from shy to outgoing, not just in social aspects but also in intimate settings. The same goes for the choices in lingerie. Neither personality trait is better or worse, they simply are who they are. In light of this I’ve chosen three distinct styles of half bras to suit most women.

Sexy See Thru Bra

The see thru bras are half bras suited to the more reserved woman. She still wants to be desired and attractive but perhaps doesn’t want to shout it out to the world. The style of see thru bra I’m talking about is the sheer bra or lace bra. It can be full covering, ornate, supportive, but most of all comfortable to wear underneath everyday clothes. I believe most women would have at least one of these in their lingerie collection.

Vintage Bullet Bra

The bullet bras are a very unique type of bra suited to women with a very distinct taste in lingerie, perhaps even living a rather different or alternative lifestyle compared to the norm. Whether it be artists, vintage fashion enthusiasts, the fit and shape of a bullet bra and lingerie from a time gone by is nostalgic, feminine, and high quality.

Raunchy Quarter Cup Bra

Our last style of half bras is for the more adventurous women. You don’t have to be working in the adult industry to be wearing quarter cup bras, cupless bras, shelf bras, and open cup bras but they will definitely attract someone’s attention. Whether it be for a romantic night at home or for dancing on the pole in a club there are quality luxury quarter cup bras or raunchy lingerie costume sets for everyone’s taste.

I’ve searched the web for places that offer these types of half bras and have found that HerRoom.comHerRoom.com Demi Bras stocks just about everything you could be looking for and WhatKatieDid.com specialises in vintage lingerie such as the bullet bra 3 Styles of Magnificent Half Bras.

Ladies Have No Fear, the ICE BRA is Here!

9321ADE82CFCDE97626E2A37C0561 300x150 Ladies Have No Fear, the ICE BRA is Here!

Just when you thought you heard it all, here comes the ICE BRA, your new way to keep cool all summer! Made by Japanese manufacturer Triumph, the new Ice Bra contains built in gel filled ice packs to keep you cool on those hot and humid days.

Believe it or not, the Ice Bra came to be due to Japan’s nuclear disaster which caused all nuclear power plants to be shut down. Japan has undertaken a massive campaign to educate the public on saving energy including the idea of wearing less clothing in the summertime.

This latest addition to the lingerie world also aims to provide “refreshing fragrance and sound” and is adorned with a sprig of mint and wind chimes. The bra also features, yes, you guessed it, a minture hand fan and bamboo ladle perfect for splashing water over the body. The best part about the Ice Bra; It comes in a fish tank motif.

So ladies, this summer, forget the frozen Margaritas and forget the A/C. Go green this summer and keep cool the Ice Bra way!

Half Bras – 6 Tips on How To Fit a Bra Properly

Wearing half bras doesn’t ensure that you automatically look sexy. It’s important to make sure that your bra is well fitted, regardless of what type of bra it is.

wonderbra won001 7878 gs Half Bras 6 Tips on How To Fit a Bra Properly Half Bras 6 Tips on How To Fit a Bra ProperlyWhat you want to look for first is what type of half cup bra you are after. Is it a balconette bra, push up bra, demi cup bra, shelf bra, or cupless bra. What kind of colours and fabrics do you want for your bra? This may sound a bit trivial but picking a bra that you like is the first step to finding a bra for you before you get into all the technical ways to fit a bra properly.

Bra Band

What you should check first when fitting a bra is the bra band that goes around your rib cage.

When fitted properly and viewed in a mirror, the band should not cut into the ribcage or give you discomfort. It should remain parallel or horizontal with the floor so to speak. The band shouldn’t ride up at the back or sit diagonally when viewed to the side. The main support of a bra comes from the bra band.

Shoulder Straps

Should straps. Make sure the straps aren’t too tight. Fitted properly the shoulder straps should not cut into the shoulders, neither should they fall off. Remember that the bra band and shoulder straps should both sit so that they follow the natural line of your body without displaying indentations.

Underwire

If you bra has an underwire it’s important that the underwire doesn’t poke out or push into your ribcage. The underwire should be under your breasts to support them, not crush them.

Breast Cups

When it comes to the cups you’ll need to make sure that the breasts fill them adequately. The breasts should not spill over the front, or the sides. As mentioned before, make sure the bra, and cups follow a natural contour of your body, this means that the cups should be filled, giving your breasts a rounder look, not a muffin top or half empty glass. This is just as important with half bras as well as full cup bras.

Movement

After checking the comfort and the way the bra looks in the mirror it is time to check how functional it is. Rotating your torso from side to side and moving your arms in all directions is a great way of testing this. The rotation and movement should still keep the bra in place comfortably. If straps or bands are moving and cutting into your skin it’s not well fitted. The same goes for the bra cups. Your breasts shouldn’t move around too much or be wedged into the cups.

Final Test

The final test is the easiest one. Put your top back on and have a look in the mirror. Does the bra make your breast, or cleavage look better? Is the bra hidden or does it leave indentations even when it’s under your top?

All these tips above should help you with finding flattering yet comfortable half bras. If you are more of a visual person I’ve managed to find this video below, which shows most of the tips, explained above.

Half bras and other variations of shape enhancing lingerie

half bras 3 Comments »

There are many types of bras that fall under the heading of half bras, or brassieres that are not full covering.

elle macpherson intimates elle01 e72 564 gs Half bras and other variations of shape enhancing lingerie Half bras and other variations of shape enhancing lingerieSome of them are the quarter cup bra, demi cup bra, shelf bra, balconette bra, and we will also talk about the see thru bra or sheer bra.

With all these different names it can be difficult to decide which type to go with, because they all actually have slight differences as well as similarities.

The common thing that most of these bras have is that they only cover half the breast, hence the overall name of half bras. The lower part of the breast is supported, giving the bust lift and shape. The top half (or more) is exposed which can allow the nipples to be displayed on some types of bras, but not on all of them.

While many probably think that half bras are purposely made to be sexual, sensual or revealing, you are only half right.

It is true that many professional dancers, performers and women who like to push the limits of their cleavage wear half bras often. Half bras are also not as young as many would think, as they were worn by Marilyn Monroe in the past century and even found on girls in Caesar’s harem.

Half bras, demi cup bras or balconette bras are actually made to be worn under tops that have a plunging neckline or are low cut. This gives the bust support but also hides the sight of the bra.

Shelf bras or quarter cup bras are meant to be erotic and leave the nipples exposed but also give a natural contour or line under tight fitting outfits, which gives the illusion of not wearing a bra at all.

See thru bras or sheer bras on the other hand are made for sexual purposes as they are see through and only some have support.

Another reason half bras are popular is that it only gives lift where needed in such cases where it is worn by younger females or females with firm breasts.

So even though you may be looking for a half bra or quarter cup bra solely for your special ocassion, it may also be something to consider to make you feel sexy throughout the day.
