Looking for the right see thru bra can be a nightmare sometimes. Sure the experience of going shopping always gives me a buzz and knowing what I’m looking for always helps the process too.

I have a certain style when it comes to lingerie and see thru bras in particular. I prefer them in a plain style, but in bright colors.

So many see thru bras come with lace, ribbons, and bows. I wonder if it’s really to make you look sexier or whether they are meant to hide your breasts, which is just silly since they are see through!

I think marketing companies have taught us what to wear when it comes to lingerie. All the excesses will make you more attractive and in turn get your partner more excited in the bedroom.

I can’t believe some of the the products I’ve seen out there, I sometimes wonder if a see thru bra was conceived out of a market demand or whether the demand for the see thru bra was created from efficient marketing strategies. Then again everybody is entitled to wear what they want and I suppose the variety in lingerie is what makes it so exciting.

In the August 2010 edition of Elle magazine I was reading an article which had a bunch of stories from different women on what their opinion of sexy lingerie is and their experiences.

A couple of the women explained how they bought a see thru bra and matching set, with all the trimmings mentioned above. Whether it was for a regular night in the bedroom or a sensual honeymoon it was disappointing to these women to see the reaction they received from their partners.

Some of their partners just weren’t into it. When they asked their partners why they didn’t enjoy the sexy see thru bra they had bought they were told their partners wanted something simpler. And this was after a year of marriage in one of the stories!

I’m not in a relationship at the moment but when I am I always talk to my partner to see what turns them on and what doesn’t. Sure I have my own preferences when it comes to lingerie and what I would like to wear for what occasion. If you are buying a see thru bra for your partner to enjoy make sure you ask them first what they like.

Wearing a see thru bra is not something most women would consider for everyday purposes.

Another name for see thru bras is sheer bras or sheer lingerie. The bra is see-through in its appearance, leaving the full breast on display. While the see thru bra doesn’t usually give any support, there are styles that have an underwire or rigid mesh. See thru bras come in many different colours and fabrics, but are most often made in a mesh or sheer material.

Interestingly enough, the see thru bras became popular during the 1960′s when the era of feminism was started and women began to burn their bras as a protest. Fashion designers saw this as a great opportunity for women to show their breasts while still wearing a bra, and so the see thru bra was invented.

See thru bras have also been very popular with women that have small breasts. Because they need very little support, a see thru bra can be a great option that is both practical and beautiful.

Normally the main purpose of a see thru bra is seduction. Women who wear see thru bras find themselves feeling sexier and more adventurous.

Men of course also find see thru bras very appealing. It sends a direct message to most men that a woman is showing interest by wearing a see thru bra.

See thru bras can be a great way to emphasize your breasts but shouldn’t be worn for daily use. Since they lack the support that other half bras have it might be more suitable to wear a quarter cup bra or half-cup bra if you still want to be adventurous underneath your clothes.

There are many types of bras that fall under the heading of half bras, or brassieres that are not full covering.

Some of them are the quarter cup bra, demi cup bra, shelf bra, balconette bra, and we will also talk about the see thru bra or sheer bra.

With all these different names it can be difficult to decide which type to go with, because they all actually have slight differences as well as similarities.

The common thing that most of these bras have is that they only cover half the breast, hence the overall name of half bras. The lower part of the breast is supported, giving the bust lift and shape. The top half (or more) is exposed which can allow the nipples to be displayed on some types of bras, but not on all of them.

While many probably think that half bras are purposely made to be sexual, sensual or revealing, you are only half right. 

It is true that many professional dancers, performers and women who like to push the limits of their cleavage wear half bras often. Half bras are also not as young as many would think, as they were worn by Marilyn Monroe in the past century and even found on girls in Caesar’s harem.

Shelf bras or quarter cup bras are meant to be erotic and leave the nipples exposed but also give a natural contour or line under tight fitting outfits, which gives the illusion of not wearing a bra at all.

See thru bras or sheer bras on the other hand are made for sexual purposes as they are see through and only some have support.

Another reason half bras are popular is that it only gives lift where needed in such cases where it is worn by younger females or females with firm breasts.

So even though you may be looking for a half bra or quarter cup bra solely for your special ocassion, it may also be something to consider to make you feel sexy throughout the day.
